Nonconsensual towing is regulated by the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). ALEA must approve towing and recovery service rates as reasonable based on what is customary in the industry.
How to File a Complaint
Service charge disputes can be filed through ALEA's dispute resolution process. Vehicle owners may contest nonconsensual towing charges by filing a written complaint. Contact ALEA Highway Patrol at highway.patrol@alea.gov or (334) 676-7111.
