- If after 24 hours the vehicle owner has not removed a vehicle believed abandoned on private property, the property owner may have it towed. In emergency situations (vehicle interferes with property access or safety), immediate removal is allowed.

- Towing companies and operators must be licensed by the Indiana Secretary of State. The Indiana Administrative Code establishes maximum rates for towing fees, which must be conspicuously posted.
